When I discovered the first two books in the Checkmate Duet series by Kennedy Fox, I was sooo blown away. I fell in love with Travis and Viola. Their story was amazing and breathtaking. I could't stop reading. I have never written a review about first two because... actually I don't have a reason but I'll make sure to do it ASAP. I have mixed feelings for this one. The book was great. I expected it to be because in the first book we met Drew and Courtney and I liked them as characters. I was waiting patiently for this book and when I received an ARC I was so happy! Now... I WANT THE SECOUND ONE ASAP!!! I didn't expect the end to be like this... Not even in my wildest dreams... So I have books to read, more deadlines, and all I want to do is to sit on the floor and cry until I get the secound book. Thank you Kennedy Fox! I love you guys but this is so cruel! "I’ll play by his rules if it will show him I’m the one worth breaking them for." If you read the first two books then you already know that Courtney have a big crush on Drew from the mometn she met him. Unfortunately Drew has only eyes for Mia, his BITCH girlfriend. I want to slap that girl every time she gets in the picture. So lets call Drew a bit stupid and foolish because he can't see what kind of woman is Mia and he can't see what is in front of him, but everything else about him is amazing. He is handsome dude, not my type but he is very sexy and attractive. He is a good brother, a good friend and an amazing boyfriend, who will forgive and make and effort when he is in relationship. He is a real prince charming. I forgot to mention, Drew and Courtney are actually roommates and that pisses Mia. She gave an ultimatum to Drew. He needs to tell Courtney to move out or their relationship is over. I bet she expected Drew to do as he was told but that didn't happen. Drew didn't want to lose Courtney as his best friend. Little by little lines between friendship and love become blurred. Chemistry and attraction were palpable and the sex was HOT, HOT, HOT! Not to long and they were both happy and madly in love with each other. Now I can't say more about this because I want you to read this book in one breath like I did. Like I said before, I can't wait for the next book, I'll count the days and I know, it will be an amazing ride when I start to read. You qualify.” Sarah’s eyes flash with annoyance. “Because I’m more than my hymen, Henry! To base the value of an accomplished, intelligent woman on a flimsy piece of skin is degrading. How would you feel if your worth rested on your foreskin?” I think it over. And then I grin. “I’d be all right with that, actually. I’ve heard it was an impressive foreskin—all the nurses were fawning over it. It’s probably being showcased in a museum right now.” She stares at me for a beat, then she laughs out loud—a rich, throaty, sensual sound. “You’re a terrible human being.” “I know.” I shake my head at the calamity of it all. “And you’re an even worse feminist.” “Agreed. That’s something I need to work on. You’ll help me, won’t you? We should spend as much time together as possible—every minute of the day and night. I’m hoping you’ll rub off on me.” Sarah pushes my shoulder. “You’re just hoping I’ll rub you off.” Now it’s my turn to laugh. Because she’s not even a little bit wrong. “But there’s never been anyone? Really?” Sarah shrugs. “Penny and I were tutored at home when we were young . . . but in year ten, there was this one boy.” I rub my hands together. “Here we go—tell me everything. I want all the sick, lurid details. Was he a footballer? Captain of the team, the most popular boy in school?” “He was captain of the chess team.” I cover my eyes with my hand. “His name was Davey. And I was so excited and nervous I could barely breathe. And then before he could finish the question, I . . .” I don’t realize I’m leaning toward her until she stops talking and I almost fall over. “You . . . what?” Sarah hides behind her hands. “I threw up on him.” And I try not to laugh. I swear I try . . . but I’m only human. So I end up laughing so hard the car shakes and I can’t speak for several minutes. “Christ almighty.” “And I’d had fish and chips for lunch.” Sarah’s laughing too. “It was awful.” “Oh you poor thing.” I shake my head, still chuckling. “And poor Davey.” “Yes.” She wipes under her eyes with her finger. “Poor Davey. He never came near me again after that.” “Coward—he didn’t deserve you. I would’ve swam through a whole lake of puke to take a girl like you to the social.” She smiles so brightly at me, her cheeks maroon and round like two shiny apples. “I think that’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me.” I wiggle my eyebrows. “I’m all about the compliments.” Emma Chase is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the hot and hilarious Tangled series and The Legal Briefs series. WEBSITE | FACEBOOK | NEWSLETTER | TWITTER | GOODREADSIn the secound book of Ray series by E. L. Todd we have well known charachters. Rae, Rex, Zeke, Kayden and Ryker. What happend with Ryker and Rae? They were fooling around just like in the first book, but Rae wanted more, and she wanted to be in a relationship with Ryker. The book is loaded with sex. Usually I wouldn't mind but Ryker was off. Something about him rubbed me the wrong way. I couldn't tell does he really have feelings for Rae or he just wanted sex. He didn't want to share anything from his private life with her, and that sucks. Rae feel in love with Ryker. She wonted more but she didn't want to end up with a broken heart. On the end of the book that happend. Rayker broke up with her as soon as she told him she loves him. What a dick. On the other side we have Rex, who is recently drown to Kayden. We all could figure out Kayden was in love with Rex. She had it bad. So when she asks Rex to teach her how to seduce a man and make him feel good in bed, Rex jumps on the train not even thinking about the consequences. I liked their love story much more then the story about Ryker and Rae, because I didn't see the point. They were fucking most of the time. There is also Zeke. Sweet and smart guy who is in love with Rae. He saw there is no future between him and Rae so he moved on. He wants to settle down because he is tired of meaningless relationships. So when he meets sweet and smart doctor Rochelle, he jumps in a relationship with her and soon they start to use L word. Honestly I liked first book a tiny bit more but this was a great read as weel. Now I just want to jump on the 3d book in Ray series. I'm giving this book.... 4 ❤❤❤❤ hearts! Ok, first of all I'm so hungry for more! The first book in the new E.L. Todd's series Ray of Lights was fantastic for me. I was up until 4am and the next day I was dead, but it was worth it. I would do it all over again! So Rex and Rae are brother and sister but they fight all the time. Rae let Rex to live with her because he's totally broke. What suprized me in a good way are POVs. They are not what you expect when you read the blurb. It was refreshing. Rae is strong confident heroine. She is not one of those tipicals you used to read. She is refreshing, she is smart, although she is fighting with her brother all the time, she loves him to death. Rea is not one of those heroines who will forget about her friends when she fall in love. I loved her and I can't wait to read more. Rae meets Ryker in the park, not knowing he is an old friend of her brother and her future boss. Rae find herself wanting Ryker as much as he wants her. But Rex is totally against that because he knows Ryker. He will break her heart. Although Rex warned Rae, she decides to give a chance to Ryker. The sex scenes between Ryker and Rae was amazing and described in details. IT WAS HOT!!! I had a good vibe about Ryker and I was happy for him and Rae but ther is Zeke also, sweet and totally in love with Rae. Honestly I can't decide who I want with Rae. Ryker or Zeke? I guess we will see. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I was truly happy when I read it, even tho it's not a standalone. I'm giving this book ❤❤❤❤❤ I WANT MORE hearts!!! Thank you E.L. Todd!!
